Google Chrome Operating System (OS) launch plans this Thursday

Posted on 22:51 by Unknown
Google Chrome Operating System in the picture pic photo image gallery
Google announcing Chrome OS launch plans this Thursday, Nov 19, 2009. It's looking increasingly unlikely that Google's Chrome OS is really launching this week (not that we were really that convinced anyway). What is true, however, is that the company is hosting an event later this week at its Mountain View, CA headquarters to showcase its progress, provide an overview of the platform, and give information on its "launch plans for next year." Excited? Us, too.

Previously ...

Google's Chrome OS just a week away from launch?
We'd heard last month that this month was the month that Google would finally launch its highly-anticipated Chrome OS, and now we've got a "reliable source" over at TechCrunch asserting that the software is gearing up for launch "within a week." Granted, we can't ever be too certain when it comes to a rumor such as this, but if the system really does hit the wilds, we probably won't see it available for every machine on the face of the planet. The presumed Alpha build will likely only support a select few products that Google engineers have had a chance to specifically work with -- possibly something such as an Eee PC netbook, which has generally the same specifications regardless of design or model number. Either way, we'd go ahead and prepare ourselves for something new before the end of November -- but don't let it spoil your holidays should things get pushed back a bit, okay?

Arctic Cooling C1 and C2 Universal USB charges detail product in picture pic image gallery
After Arctic Cooling's first alkaline batteries, the company has dug even deeper into the branch with the introduction of the Arctic Cooling C1 and C2. The C1 and C2 are two wall socket USB-chargers. It's remarkable for AC to release such products, given its history of computer cooling solutions.

The USB-chargers have outputs ranging from 100 volts up to 240 volts and have an overcurrent- and short circuiting-protection. Both devices come with four extra powre plugs, allowing them to be used in the entire world. The C1 has one USB port, whereas the C2 has four.

Both products are to be released around December. Arctic Cooling's C1 USB charger will cost about € 15, its C2 counterpart is to sport an € 18 pricetag.

How Microsoft Blew It With Windows Mobile

Posted on 15:13 by Unknown
Microsoft Windows continues to dominate the PC market with a 90 percent market-share stronghold, but when it comes to smartphones, Microsoft is getting beat up worse than a mustachioed villain in a Jackie Chan movie.

Windows Mobile has lost nearly a third of its smartphone market share since 2008, research firm Gartner reports. Windows Mobile had 11 percent of the global smartphone market in the third quarter of 2008, according to Gartner, and last quarter Windows Mobile's market share plummeted to 7.9 percent.

Meanwhile, Apple's global market share grew from 12.9 percent to 17.1 percent, and RIM saw a rise from 16 percent to 20.8 percent, according to Gartner's figures.

It's worth noting Microsoft got a head start with Windows CE, its pocket PC OS, in 1996. Windows CE serves as the foundation for the Windows Mobile OS shipping with some smartphones today. The smartphone OS market, in fact, has existed for several years, and Microsoft was an early leader in the space. But only recently have several additional corporations stepped into this space with their own platforms.

Microsoft's biggest problem? One word: iPhone.

"It was really the iPhone that came out full-bore for a consumer perspective," said Ross Rubin, an NPD Group consumer technology analyst. "We saw app development focus on consumer applications like social networking and games…. Particularly with Apple's retail presence and advantages in that market, through design and so forth, that's where Microsoft's main challenge lies."

Many other technology observers agree that Apple receives credit for sparking the smartphone boom. The 2008 introduction of the App Store enabled third-party developers to sell their own software, further enhancing the capabilities of the iPhone. This proved a workable model, giving 40 million iPhone and iPod Touch owners the ability to choose from the now 100,000 apps in the App Store. Meanwhile, some developers earned hundreds of thousands of dollars with hot-selling apps. Even if most developers didn't earn that much cash, the success stories helped make Apple's App Store powerfully attractive.

Apple's blockbuster success with the iPhone and its App Store compelled other tech giants to offer their own mobile platforms and app stores as well. Google, Nokia, Research In Motion, Palm and others have opened app stores and begun recruiting developers to compete.

But if Microsoft was the first player in this market, why wasn't the software giant able to replicate the success it had with PCs?

"It was theirs to lose and they lost it," said Raven Zachary, a technology analyst and owner of iPhone app development house Small Society. "They had everything they needed to execute, to do the right kinds of carrier deals to create an app store, create visual voice mail, touchscreens and so on. They've been in this space since the beginning."

To Peter Hoddie, CEO of Kinoma, which develops a mobile media browser for Windows Mobile and other platforms, a major knock against Windows Mobile isn't the OS itself, but rather the weakness of the bundled apps included with it.

"The sad part for Microsoft is that in terms of operating systems, they have a great one, and they had it long before anyone else did," Hoddie said in a phone interview. "Their first problem is the built-in apps are uninspiring, so that sets a very low bar for developers who are coming to the platform."

Hoddie compared Windows Mobile to the iPhone, whose apps he described as "beautiful," which encourages third-party developers to produce apps of similar quality.

He added that Microsoft's second problem is segmentation in the hardware ecosystem. Windows Mobile ships with several different manufacturers' hardware, including HTC, LG and Samsung. The problem? From a developer perspective, that requires coding an app for several phones with different UI styles, buttons and screen sizes. (The same problem, incidentally, has started to plague Android developers.)

That would give the iPhone another advantage: The iPhone operates on a closed system, which can only run on Apple hardware, meaning third-party developers can produce apps and games that work exclusively with the iPhone. Therefore, despite Apple's questionable and controversial approval policy for iPhone apps, developers can code one app that works with 40 million iPhone and iPod Touch devices, which is less time consuming than developing several versions of one app for a variety of Windows Mobile smartphones. In turn, that spells out to a larger number of apps in the App Store, which enables Apple's hardware to cater to a larger and broader audience.

The inability to recognize the new smartphone audience is another one of Microsoft's flaws, Rubin said. Microsoft's mobile OS history is rooted in personal digital assistants, which were marketed toward enterprise audiences. Today, the smartphone has shifted into the mainstream as a consumer device, and yet Windows Mobile is still largely focused on enterprise features.

And even in the enterprise market, Apple's iPhone is winning. In a recent customer satisfaction survey conducted by JD Power, Apple grabbed the number 1 spot for smartphones in business. How? JD Power found that more than half of business smartphone owners reported downloading third party games for entertainment, and 46 percent report downloading travel software such as maps and weather apps. That would suggest enterprise users are interested in mixing business with pleasure in their devices — and the iPhone's wealth of choices in the App Store covers those needs.

"I would say Microsoft needs to err more on the side of going too far into the consumer segment versus trying to achieve a good balance between enterprise and consumer features at this point," Rubin said.

Despite Microsoft's recent shrinkage in the mobile OS market, it's not over for Windows Mobile. Rubin said he expects Microsoft to redeem itself with its next OS — Windows Mobile 7 — as it did with Windows 7 after negative reception of Windows Vista.

Microsoft declined to comment on details about Windows Mobile 7, but a spokeswoman said mobility is one of Microsoft's top investment areas, and the company's mobile strategy will not change.

"The company's mobility strategy has not changed; it is and has always been to provide a software platform for the industry," a Microsoft spokeswoman said in a statement. "The company works closely with many mobile operators and device makers around the world because people want different experiences on a variety of phones."

Leaks indicate Microsoft plans to incorporate iPhone-like touch gestures. Windows Mobile 7 is scheduled for a 2010 release.

"Microsoft believes the Windows brand is very strong, and consumers associate the Windows brand with enabling them to do what they need to do in their digital lives, at least on the PC," Rubin said. "In general with this whole Windows phone terminology, Microsoft is trying to do more to leverage what it believes is the good will value of the Windows brand."

Tips Use Google Wave for Your First Project

Posted on 18:49 by Unknown
Google Wave picture pics photoshoot image gallery for Your First ProjectAs Google is issuing Wave invites in a steady trickle, those fortunate enough to have an account are trying to figure out how this new tool might fit into their work flow and help them better communicate and collaborate with their teams and clients. Here is 6 Tips for using Google wave on your project :

1. Set suitable expectations.
Despite the months of buzz, and blogosphere- and Twitterverse-wide clamoring for Google Wave invites, the product is still in preview and has some rough edges. Therefore, it does all parties good to be realistic, even if everybody is psyched to be the first kid on their block to use it on a live project. If your experience is anything like mine, you'll also encounter bouts of slowness, messages to refresh Google Wave, and perhaps even the random browser crash. Your project team's level of tolerance for such things might vary.

2. Do a dry run with a Wave.
The Wave concept is definitely a new model for many. It took me an impromptu "dry run" with my client for us to truly grasp the Wave concept and see how it could shape our online collaboration. For example, I could see how Wave could be used to keep all project information and communications online and out of our already cluttered inboxes, and it was great to able to see my client paste text as well as type into a Wave in real-time.

3. Take control of your Waves.
It's easy to get a little excited and end up creating Waves for all sorts of things, but you need to take control of the conversation in Google Wave, instead of letting Google Wave take charge of your conversations. For my project, we decided on one Wave per project document, for the sake of organization.

4. Use folders and tags.
While the Inbox Zero and GTD crowd have yet to full plant their stakes in Google Wave, I must say that the use of folders and tags is prudent, especially because while the Wave platform breaks so much new ground, but folders and tags are concepts are familiar to many. I ended up creating a project-specific folder for all the Waves associated with the client project. My use of tags also came further into play as a tool to fine-tune my own organization. A simple tip is to remember you can resize the navigation pane to accommodate your folder list as it grows. By default, your folder list may not fully appear in the navigation panel.

5. Consider whether to use live editing or attachments.
Google Wave melds email and word processing together. Thus, it is important to decide whether you want to collaborate on documents directly in Google Wave or via file attachments. Unfortunately, at this time Google Wave lacks version control for file attachments (thus putting the feature at the top of my wish list for a Google Wave extension). My client and I decided to work with file attachments for the project documents and write directly in Google Wave for direct communications with each other.

6. Have a Plan B.
It's cool to get jazzed as an early adopter, but if Google Wave isn't enhancing productivity and communications, be sure that you have a fall back plan in case it end up causing more problems than it is worth.

After Installing Windows 7, Next What you things to do?

Posted on 19:16 by Unknown

So, after seeing a countless amount of positive reviews, playing around with it a bit on a friend's PC or at the store, perhaps trying out the Beta and RC, and simply hearing your geek friends talking amongst each other about 7, you finally decided to make the switch. Whether you're upgrading a current system, or purchasing a new PC, there are a few things you can do to spruce up your experience and make it even better.

1. Reinstall windows 7 if you purchased a new PC with 7 – Yes, you heard right. If you purchased a new OEM PC from a store like Best Buy, FutureShop, CompUSA, Costco, etc., or from another similar store, than it's best to go and purchase a fresh copy of Windows 7 from that same store and re-install your OEM PC right after purchasing it. Why? Because the installations of Windows that come with these OEM systems are clogged with bloatware, causing system crashes, instability, sluggishness and various other issues that can be eradicated with a clean copy of Windows. Myself and many people I know do this with all the systems that they get their hands on, and it's been proven to make a positive difference.

2. Run Windows Update – It's very important to have the latest drivers and security patches on your machine for optimal performance. This is why it's important to check for updates after an installation, and to let it automatically install important updates to keep your system safe and speedy.

3. Adjust UAC – If you were one of the many people that were annoyed by User Account Control (UAC) in Windows Vista, than I have good news for you. In Windows 7, you can keep the protection offered by UAC without the intrusiveness. To do this, go to Start > Control Panel > User Accounts > Change User Account Control Settings. From there, you can either disable UAC altogether or simply tone down the intrusiveness.

4. Skin it – Even though Windows 7 only hit the shelves on October 22nd, there already are a few rather nice skins out there for it. In a previous GeekSmack post, titled 7 Stylish Skins for Windows 7, you will see my personal favorites at the moment. If you're unfamiliar with the concept of skinning, skinning is basically patching your machine so that you can use custom skins instead of the default Aero look alone. Skinning isn't harmful at all towards your system, and it's something that many people do.

5. Set up a homegroup – Among the many other improvements in 7, networking was also made better and easier. With homegroups, you can set up a password-protected network of PCs that are all running Windows 7, which makes it easier to share files, printers, and stream media. To get started with homegroups, simply go to Start > Computer (or any Explorer window of your choice) > Homegroup (in the left pane). From there, it's quick and easy to start a homegroup, and all you need to do from there is connect the other PCs to the homegroup.

6. Learn the time-saving keyboard shortcuts – By using some of the spiffy keyboard shortcuts built into Windows 7, you can save time and interact with your PC more using your keyboard. There's some great keyboard shortcuts out there, such as the ones listed below:

* + number - Start the program pinned to the taskbar in the position indicated by the number. If the program is already running, switch to that program.

* + Up Arrow - Maximize the window.

* + Left Arrow - Maximize the window to the left side of the screen.

* + Right Arrow - Maximize the window to the right side of the screen.

* + Home - Minimize all but the active window.

Picture of Windows logo key + Shift+ Left Arrow or Right Arrow - Move a window from one monitor to another.

There's many more keyboard shortcuts to learn about, and you may do so by going to: Start > Help and Support > Type "Keyboard Shortcuts" in the search box > Click on the first link titled "Keyboard Shortcuts".

7. Install XP Mode – If you're one of the many people out there that need to use software not supported by 7 (or even Vista) that works on XP, than there's no need to fear. XP Mode, a program that utilizes virtualization technology to basically run the incompatible apps in XP while still using 7 may prove useful to you. It will allow you to run applications incompatible with 7, for example IE6, in a Windows XP window alongside the usual 7 applications in their appropriate Windows 7 windows. As XP mode utilizes virtualization technology to do this however, you will need to have a compatible CPU. Check to see if your system supports XP mode and download it over at the XP Mode official website.

A Warning Against Personal Antivirus

Posted on 18:01 by Unknown
Have you been bombarded with ads right on your desktop that tell you you've been infected and need to buy their software? If you have, and are looking for a way to effectively rid yourself of the rogue antispyware program at the root of it all, you should know that programs of this sort are very dangerous, and act against them immediately. Not taking action right away could compromise the security of your private information, as well as leave you unable to access documents or open any other programs.

This example of malware uses extremely pushy, dishonest advertising claiming that your computer is infected by spyware or some other form of malware, thus encouraging you to immediately download Personal Antivirus and run it to scourge your hard drive clean of the vile things. But unfortunately, this ad is a lie, and Personal Antivirus will cheerfully infect and harm your system should you trust its marketing.

How does it hurt your computer, you may ask? A near-constant salvo of popups is, of course, standard. False security scan messages are an additional nasty twist. And of course, like most malware, it will slow your system down, and slow it down worse the longer you leave it to do its wicked business.

Even worse, though, Personal Antivirus can actually record what you type into your keyboard and keep track of the web sites you visit, and send all that private information wrapped in a pretty bow as a present to a malicious hacker. The hacker can then use that data for anything from violating your bank accounts to snatching up your identity for any number of illegal or unsavory purposes.

The dynamic and extremely sophisticated nature of the rogue spyware program makes it very difficult to remove it from your system, thereby causing enough damages to your system and its operating speed. This software creates a large number of random files, unwanted system files which makes it even more difficult to trace and remove from the system for the best of the anti spyware programs. Moreover, the manual removal of the randomly generated files is almost impossible as the rogue software is an expert in generating duplicate files in any number. Once you delete them, they will re-appear again and again.

Programs of higher quality may cost a bit of money, but have features that enable them to detect more bugs, and more recent spyware. You will also find yourself well protected in the future, as better anti-spyware programs will include features that can prevent you from ever being infected at all. Some examples would be PC Tools Spyware Doctor 6.0, and Sunbelt CounterSpy 3.1, which are priced anywhere between $45 and $20.

A small investment can enable you to protect yourself against the rogue spyware program. The modern advanced tools are highly effective in removing the threats caused by the Personal Antivirus. Apart from this the advanced tools ensure that your computer is not affected by any other new kind of spyware program. So this is an added benefit from the advanced tools to safeguard your system against Internet threats. A little investment will provide you peace of mind, definitely.

Free Adware Removal Information

Posted on 17:52 by Unknown
Ever notice that your computer has started running slowly? That web sites load slower and slower? It is probably due to some sneaky software that some website place on your computer without your permission or knowledge. It is called adware and spyware. Adware or advertising-supported software is a software program that automatically plays, displays, or downloads advertisements to a computer after the software is installed on it. Some types of adware are also spyware and can be classified as privacy-invasive software.

Adware removal programs are not very hard to find. But finding one that is truly no cost, provides current updates and is easy to use is a little more difficult. Sometimes you may click on a link that promises free adware removal programs, but you land on a site with programs that require more from you than you want to provide. You might only be able to try out the really free adware removal program for a very short time, like a few days, before you are required to purchase an expensive version of the program. A few days is usually not enough to find if you are comfortable with you adware removal program or not.

Fortunately for us, there are really no cost adware removal programs that are available for download on line. Really free adware removal programs are seldom available off-line, because it would be too expensive to distribute them. Be cautious when you choose a website from which to download a really free adware removal program, since there are a lot of dishonest sites offering bogus adware removal programs which really turn out to be adware themselves.

These phony programs are promoted energetically on the Internet, and many computer users are tricked into installing what they think is a protective and safe program. If you spend some time on line, you will probably sooner or later stumble over a banner ad that warns you about the dangers of adware and spyware. You can minimize the risk of downloading a fake adware removal program by only downloading really free adware removal programs from trustworthy web pages with a good reputation.

A well-written, well-updated and trusted program is Spybot Search and Destroy. This is an entirely free program, although they do ask for donations, and is updated often. It is very easy to install and does a thorough search of your system for all kinds of treacherous software website will attempt to install on your unsuspecting computer. It also has a feature for immunization which stops adware from being installed on your computer before it has a chance.

New forms of malicious spyware and adware are constantly being created and in order to protect your computer from invasions you must choose a high-quality protection program and keep it updated. Search and Destroy will help you battle these little demons.

Windows 7 to 120 days without activation

Posted on 22:20 by Unknown
With a simple command you can try Windows 7 without having to activate, for 120 days. Microsoft has confirmed that Windows 7 may be used, without any kind of problem, without activation up to 120 days after installation. This is not an absolute novelty, had already happened with Windows Vista. You can reset the counter for 30 days (time limit standard for the activation of copy) three times, with the command "slmgr-rearm" (quotes not included), written in the command prompt opened with Administrator privileges.
Windows 7 will be available from 22 October.

Windows 7 RC, overview and features

Posted on 19:27 by Unknown

Let's take a look at what has changed in the latest build of Windows 7.
Introduction
The release candidate of Windows 7 is available for some time, and you can download and use it until the first of June 2010 (but the first of May of that year will begin to reboot every two hours as a reminder of the deadline). The Build 7100, which is the current RC, will be available for download until July. The recommended requirements are a minimum of 1 GHz CPU, 1 GB RAM (2 GB for the XP mode, or systems with virtualized 64-bit), 16 GB hard disk space (30 GB to 20 GB and use XP virtualized for the 64-bit). If you want to risk it, you can do with fewer requirements.
Installation
The installation process, compared to the beta release, improved appearance, while keeping the color scheme and overall style. The images also show that we present the login and shutdown screens, and the one with the verification of hardware compatibility.
A new installation takes about 20 minutes, significant acceleration compared to Windows Vista. Upgrading a system with Windows Vista (the beta of Windows 7), however, takes about two hours, because it must also transfer files, applications and settings.
Desktop
The interface of Windows 7 with few changes. The icons in the taskbar are slightly smaller and more defined, while the Start Menu are brighter. Some icons, if necessary, will have a light of a bright yellow, a tool to call your attention with some flashing. As for the visual aspect, however, the biggest change concerns the new themes and backgrounds included with the RC: This is very evocative images, but also unusual, even strange. If you choose to try a theme, and then you decide to delete it, no longer need to manually delete it from the "My Themes". There are also more sound combinations available, and more icons to match the user accounts.
ALT + Tab
Windows 7 proposes an alternative view to the icons of open applications, appear with Alt + Tab If you stop on an icon without leaving the keys to make sure that what you want, preview it appears larger, like those of Aero Peek. It's a small change, but it greatly enhances the perceived simplicity of the operating system.
Aeropeek
The preview of the desktop is now officially called Aero Peek. Show all windows in transparency, facilitate the identification of icons and gadgets, and presents a new option, available with a right click, in the beta, in fact, move the mouse on the area next to the taskbar brings up a small preview window, which can be reduced with a click, but now with the right button you can choose to minimize the window or restore the size.
Jumplist
The release candidate includes a full version of IE8, which features a list of quick access to favorites and recent pages, and buttons to open a new tab or switch to private mode. This "jumpilist" is present in almost all the elements of Windows. Windows Media Player, for example, allows you to choose whether to use jumplist to play your favorite songs or those heard recently. This quick list is also present in PowerShell and Remote Desktop. The extension of the list is 10 items, but you can change through options in the Start Menu.

PC Speakers Logitech Z Cinema 2.1

Posted on 22:04 by Unknown

The Z Cinema system has two satellites are very similar to those of Z-10, but apart from that, this new system comes at a higher band, starting with the fact that this is a 2.1 system. The words "Cinema", however, raises some suspicion, given that relies on a computer system software to simulate the presence of several speakers. The Z Cinema, however, are not a simple diffusion system, because, thanks to the USB connection, behave exactly like an external sound card. Among the "collateral damage" we point out the fact that only work with certain versions of Windows (XP Media Center Edition, Vista Home Premium and Vista Ultimate). In the pack are also a Media Center remote control.
Large, but easy to install.

Each of the two satellites is a two-way system with woofers and tweeters from 8 cm by 3 cm or smaller or of superior in terms of design. High 25 cm deep and 11, are real stereo speakers that can be put on the desk or subtracting to it a lot of space, or installed on the wall. On the back there are the pre-drilled holes for fixing to the wall, but the package does not include data media.

The subwoofer is quite large (and less than 41 cm deep) and heavy a burden necessary to achieve bass sounds correct. On the system there are control buttons, so you have to do everything with the remote. Audio connectors (input for MP3 players and headphone) are on the right satellite. The USB port is on the subwoofer, which depart from the two wires, rather short, bringing the sound to the two satellites. Can not remove too much then the satellites from the subwoofer, as well as the Z Cinéma from the PC. The subwoofer mounts a 20-cm cone, bass-reflex loaded and with a vent on the side, and the power supply and amplifier. Logitech did not leave things half: the amp has three channels and the power is more than enough to ensure both good dynamics and low distortion.

Technical specifications
- Subwoofer Power: 110 W
- Power Satellites: 2 x 26 W + 2 x 9 W
- Frequency response: ND
- Inputs: USB + 1 line-in
- Headphone: 3.5 mm
- Satellites: Midrange 80 mm + 30 mm dome tweeter
- Subwoofer: woofer de 20 cm
- Dimensions Satellites: 250.4 mm x 115 mm x 112.4 mm
- Dimensions Subwoofer: 292.4 mm x 290.6 mm x 413.9 mm

Unlike other audio systems, the Z Cinéma can not do without, or almost, of a PC, which has some very specific things: the operating system must be Windows XP Media Center, Windows Vista Home Premium or Windows Vista Ultimate.

System Requirements :

- Windows XP Media Center, Vista Home Premium or Vista Ultimate
- USB
- CD-ROM
- 256 MB of RAM
- 20 MB of free hard disk

Intel Office in
"The PC market is picking up, it shows the rise of Intel on the estimates of third quarter."
Intel Corporation has revised upward estimates of the financial third quarter. The company is expected to reach a turnover in the order of 9 billion dollars (estimates range from 8,8 to 9,2 billion), compared to 8.5 billion (8.1 / 8.9) predicted end of second quarter.
Intel hopes, therefore, to sell more products, especially processors. The increase in estimates is a good sign for the entire spectrum of PC, which is preparing for the resumption last month of the year: do not just trawl Snow Leopard, but Windows 7 and the news of Intel's processors and piattorme, Core i5 and Pine Trail at all.

in mid 2010 Nokia launch Nokia Smartbook

Posted on 22:24 by Unknown
Nokia Smartbook qualcomm series 2010
One SmartBook from Nokia. The Finnish company, after submitting the booklet 3G-based Intel Atom CPU (likely coming in early 2010), plans to play hard in the computer world with a solution SmartBook.

Core 2 Duo E8600 overclocked with MSI P45 Motherboard

Posted on 20:55 by Unknown
Balance performance and power consumption. The overclocked processor and graphics cards is the easiest way to improve the performance of the system, ideally, and no cost. However, there are limits to take into account if you want to enjoy a reasonable relationship between performance and power consumption, since more speed translates into a higher energy consumption. We used an MSI P45 motherboard and a Core 2 Duo E8600 to answer this question: what is the clock speed at which a Core 2 Duo processor delivers the best performance / consumption?

P45 and Core 2 Duo, still a good match.
Although now it seems everyone is only talking of Intel Core i7 and the AMD Phenom II, the dear old dual core Core 2 Duo will remain in circulation for several months. Despite the quad core mentioned above provide a significant performance boost, they are more expensive (Intel) and typically require new motherboards, and DDR3 memory. This will apply equally to future new Intel products, such as chipsets Series 5 (Ibex Peak), which introduce the new processor socket LGA1156 and Lynfield. The new products offer better performance, and probably will fill the gap that exists between the Core 2 Quad and Core i7, but the platform will not be much more efficient configuration of a Core 2 Quad - and more expensive. Ibex Peak is as innovative product, which introduces new features. For these reasons, the Core 2 Duo models will remain attractive for a while ', because many applications do not benefit fully from the four cores.

Platform.
We looked around for a suitable basis for our plan to overclock. The choice of a high-end motherboard, equipped with many features for fans, it was certainly a good starting point, but with the intent to keep the cost to reasonable levels, we opted for a mainstream P45 motherboard. To be more precise, we selected the motherboard MSI P45D3 Neo, a model not equipped with highly advanced features - that many users probably do not use it - but however provides overclocking features we needed. The most advanced P45D3 Platinum would have been our choice in the case of quad-core CPU, but for this project to overclock the Neo is more than enough.

Monitor 22 inch from Asus, Dell, LG and Philips

Posted on 21:51 by Unknown
Monitor 22 inch 4 models to compare. Save money on buying a monitor 19" or a 20" no longer makes sense, because for just over $ 100 you can buy a 22 inch, a segment that offers both panels to 1680x1050 as a 1920x1080 pixel.
The high-end models offer a very wide viewing angles, are adjustable in height, they have several video inputs and an integrated DVB-T, they can also work as stand-alone televisions. The choices have expanded in late 2008, with the introduction of Full-HD panel: now you can choose between "fewer pixels is more readable" and "more pixels is more detail.

The 22 inch cheap, on the other hand, is not synonymous with low quality, but features thin, as the monitor base is fixed, the only video input is the classic VGA connector (even if the digital input DVI is also gaining ground on an affordable monitor) and the panels are common TN 5 ms, therefore with rather narrow angles of vision, which tend to bring up unpleasant trails behind fast express movement subjects.

The monitor should ideally :
1. be very responsive and without major delays in the display image.
2. with colors faithful to default (dE <3).
3. have a high contrast (to have a contrast of at least 800:1 a brightness of 200 cd / m 2, the black must be less than 0.25 cd / m 2).
4. have wide viewing angles, so you can watch the monitor also veer sideways without seeing the colors.
5. be very ergonomic, adjustable height and a swivel base.
In reality, a monitor like that does not exist, except to focus on products from the price outrageous. Nevertheless, we can consider a good monitor if it excels in at least 4 of the 5 points that we have listed. If the monitor is defective on at least 2 of these points, you can define good, unless it has some cool features or options.

Test :
Design, ergonomics, color fidelity, response times in games, video noise in films, the criteria for assessing the quality of a monitor are many. The ideal monitor should excel in all these fields, but this rarely happens, so you must reach a compromise, emphasizing color fidelity if you do photo editing, or if the reaction is often used to play.
Which diagonal?
Today the small diagonal, 19 and 20 inches, offer a significant savings than their older siblings, and not much point in their purchase, except for personal reasons. It's more interesting to look at 24 inch, which cost less, so that economic models can cost as much as a 22inch mid-range. A larger monitor, of course offers more space, and occupies more on the desktop.

A final consideration. The new LCD monitors are distinguished from those of the past, some new features, or unusual for a PC monitor, such as DVB-T tuner, special glasses that give the 3D effect, or the refresh rate of 120 frames per second instead of the traditional 60, which gives a clean break with the latency and improves the fluidity of the action.

Core 2 Duo Vs AMD Phenom II X4 to reduced tension

Posted on 22:37 by Unknown
AMD Phenom II X4 in the picture pics galleryVS
core 2 duo in picture pics photo images gallery
When it comes to processors and overclocking ability, the questions that users ask are: which speed is possible to carry a processore? Which tension needs in order to catch up that speed? Which is the better system than usable cooling? which speed is possible to carry a processore? Which tension needs in order to catch up that speed? Which is the better system than usable cooling?

Voltage, clock speed and power consumption
While the clock speed is the first characteristic that identifies the benefits, while the increase of tension is a variable used to reach higher clock speeds, the voltage is the parameter that affects the energy consumption. The increase in clock speed has a lower impact on consumption than the increase of operating voltage, which impacts more heavily. Similarly, the reduction in operating voltage can greatly reduce fuel consumption.

Low-voltage products

Many laptop processors are simply modified versions, to consume less, desktop counterparts. Think of the Intel Core 2 mobile: it is optimized versions, but in certain conditions consume and offer services identical to those of the brothers for desktop PCs. The Core 2 Duo T-series, have a TDP of 35 W (maximum power consumption of 35 watts), while the P series does not exceed 25 watts.
There are versions with low power consumption for desktop processors: AMD provides long-efficient processors, identified by the suffix and (Phenom II X4 900th and 905th, or X4 9350e), Intel Core 2 Quad models offer the "s" which offer the same benefits of regular models, but have a TDP of 65W instead of 95W. Although these processors are usually more expensive, both in idle which are able to reach peak power consumption reduced, as promised.

CPU low cost do-it-yourself ?

Considering the benefits described above, why not change the operating voltage of the processor on our behalf? We took two MSI motherboard, the P45D3 Neo, recently used for the article "Core 2 Duo better when overclocked, and we have matched with a Core 2 Extreme QX9650, along with a 790FX-GD70, used for the tests with the AMD Phenom II X4 955.

The Sony BDP-S560 Blu-Ray Player

Posted on 21:49 by Unknown
So many media types exist today that it can be daunting to find a media player that does it all. Sony sought to change that by releasing the BDP-S560 Blu-ray disc player to the public. Able to play just about any popular media, it has quickly become one of the most popular media players on the current market.

The Blu-ray disc was actually created by Sony to replace the DVD as the standard video format. The main difference is that the Blu-ray disc will be able to store up to 25 GB on a single layer disk- much more than the current DVD standard. As a result the discs support a higher quality picture of movies and video games. However, they also need a special disc player, such as the one currently being reviewed.

You couldn't go wrong in choosing the BDP-S560 model from Sony. this particular model plays all of the DVD discs you currently have in your collection through backwards compatibility technology. It also allows you to play older formats such as the CD. Overall, it is hard to not pick the Sony BDP-S560 solely for its ability to play just about any media format, and any media contained within.

Remember in the olden days of DVD players, how when you tried to navigate throughout the menu you often became frustrated? Sony replaced this frustration with glee, as they have released a similar interface to their PS3 interface for use on the BDP-S560. The "Xross" display allows one to easily navigate options and menus like it is second nature.

Sony also realized that the picture quality and storage options wasn't what made the movie experience- but rather the sound had a large part to play. Sony, thus, decided to give the player compatibility with Dolby TrueHD, which is the next big format in sound quality and design. The format will essentially allow those with high definition audio to feel as if they are in a movie theater- without the ticket price of course.

Ports are important for getting a device to hook up with another and share information. Sony included just about every port there is to ensure that if there is a need for the device to hook up to anything, the option to do it will be there. A rather odd port for a media player, the Ethernet port, has even been included to network your Sony BDP-S560 to other devices supporting the standard. It's innovation like this that really puts the frosting on the cake for consumers.

Getting Started With Alpha Channels And QuickMask Mode In Adobe Photoshop CS4

Posted on 23:46 by Unknown
There are three colour channels in typical Photoshop file: Red, Green and Blue. However, in addition to the colour channels, Photoshop can also use channels to store information used in the process of selecting and masking different parts of an image. To distinguish them from the colour channels, these channels are normally referred to as alpha channels. Alpha channels are a huge topic in Photoshop since they can be used in all sorts of very creative ways. However, in this article, we will focus on just two techniques both of which cause alpha channels to be created automatically: the Save Selection command and QuickMask mode.

In order to manipulate any part of an image, you need to make a selection. Photoshop has a number of different tools and techniques for making selections and the time taken will depend on the complexity of the subject. Certain photographic elements, such as people's hair, are notoriously difficult to select and may take hours. So, having made a selection, it is not unreasonable that the user should want to save the selection for later reuse. The Save Selection command, which is found in the Select menu, is one of the easiest ways of doing this.

When you save a selection Photoshop creates an alpha channel and prompts you to give it a name. You can view the alpha channel by going to the Channel window and clicking on its name. Alpha channels are simple greyscale images which use a visual code to represent selections: the black areas on the channel represent areas which will not be highlighted when the channel is loaded as a selection and white areas represent those areas which will be highlighted. In actual fact, the reverse can be true since the user can set his or her preferences by double-clicking the channel thumbnail in the Channel window. The different levels of grey within an image represent different levels of selection. This makes alpha channels ideal for saving selections with feathering and fades.

When looking at an alpha channel in isolation, it appears black and white. However, it is also useful to look at an alpha channel at the same time as the image to which it will be applied. This means that Photoshop has to find a way of representing the alpha channel which will not obscure the image. By default, the alpha channel changes to a red overlay with an opacity of 50%: the user can change both the colour and opacity of the overlay by double-clicking the thumbnail of the alpha channel in the Channels window.

This same technique of representing selection and masking as an overlayed colour is also used in Photoshop's QuickMask mode. To enter QuickMask mode, click on the QuickMask icon on the toolbar or simple press the letter "q" on the keyboard. When in QuickMask mode, all of Photoshop's paint tools, such as the paintbrush and gradient, can be used to make selections. Selections are represented in exactly the same way as they are on alpha channels. Furthermore, if you look at the Channels window when in QuickMask mode, you will notice that Photoshop has created a temporary alpha channel called "QuickMask" which will disappear as soon as you exit QuickMask mode.

The Difference of Adware, Spyware and Anti virus

Posted on 18:15 by Unknown
Adware, Spyware and Anti virus in picture pic photo image galleryAdware, spyware and computer virus share some similarities, one of which is that all three are major nuisances for computer users. Let's differentiate the three.

At first she thought it was just a glitch in the internet system and then she rationalized that no it maybe a glitch in the search engine she is using but the persistent occurrence of such a thing made her think that someone bugged her. We all hate bugging people us but people we can fend of.

What this law student is confronted with is a computer bug that she cannot fend off. In the first place she is not a technology savy person and in the second place she never uses her laptop for any other things than academic research and actual writing of her papers.

The situation above is not an isolated case. There are many people who find themselves caught up in technology problems that are mind boggling but actually can be answered with two words and those two words are spyware and adware. The infamous term of spyware was first coined in the year 1995 but it was popularized in the year 2000. Spyware is a computer software innocently infiltrated in a personal computer to be able to access personal information of the user.

This is done by studying logging keystrokes, web browsing history and even scanning a user's hard drive. Sounds like something we see only in James Bond movies but apparently we are wrong for anyone can be a victim of spyware.

It is safe to use the word victim because no one wants to be monitored of all their online activities. Spyware can understandably be used to spy on criminals because such use is beneficial to society but how about the use of spyware to intercept credit card details and the like. There is simply no excuse for the lax of the use of spyware.

Meanwhile, viruses are destructive form of software. They were purely designed and created for one purpose alone: to wreck havoc to your computer. They destroy whatever they come in contact to and will initiate self replication and infect as many components of the computer's operating system or network as possible.

Spyware, adware, malware are not like virus or worms that self replicate but they can be just as hassle as their counterparts for whoever wants to be disrupted of their normal personal computer activities.

One of the more popular hassles cause by these infectious software programs is the slowness of the computer which can really be annoying because when you are at work you tend to want to finish things quick not just because you are required but also because you want more done or you want to be able to go home early.

These adware maybe spyware in disguised and are just waiting to be deployed for them to gather your information. Learn to setup firewall systems and always block pop up blockers to minimize computer infection and ensure the security of all your computer files.

Scan your computer daily for bugs using (http://cbtopsites.com/search/acts2v38/spyware) Registry Cleaner repair software will clean scan your Windows registry and (http://cbtopsites.com/search/acts2v38/spyware) eliminate all spyware.

Registry Cleaners And Error Fix

Posted on 17:50 by Unknown
Registry Cleaners in picture pic photo image galleryTry to google registry cleaners and youll find thousands of hits. There are just that many registry cleaners available out there. Registry cleaners are important for maintaining your computers performance. But with so many of them, which one do you choose to do the job for you? This is why I tried out one software to test if it works.

The name of the registry cleaner that I decided to test Error Fix. It has been in the market for a long time now, but I wanted to find out if it was as good as the other reviews said it would be. Sure, it claimed that it can fix every kind of problem there is but I wanted to find out for sure.

The Error Fix software has a couple of added features aside from the basic registry cleaning tasks. There are actually plenty of things that a person can do with the Error Fix software. The installation of the program was a breeze. I didn't encounter a lot of problems with that so I guess you can take that as a good sign.

When I started running the Error Fix program, I was quite pleased to see that it does detect a considerable good number of errors in my system. After that it proceeded to fixing all the errors that it found.

One feature that I was really pleased with was how the Error Fix can create back ups of my system settings.

You can even choose to just create a back up of your registry if you find it too cumbersome to create a back up of the entire Windows system. Back ups are very important for when we need to revert to our old settings due to file corruptions.

But for those who gauge the efficiency of the program by the interface (of how it looks like), youll be happy with the put together, professional look of the Error Fix. The down side with sophistication is that it can be complicated for the user.

All the choices are all presented in a way that users will not have a hard time finding which buttons they need for what actions. I give the software a thumbs up. (http://errorfix2.com/)

You should make sure you are using spyware software that is designed for your operating system. If you are using Mac make sure it is made for MAC.

After you completely downloaded the spyware removal program you will be given a chance to scan your computer for infections. The program will produce a list of files that it feels that are threatening your computer. You can search through the list and choose to remove them all at one time or pick certain ones from the list. It is best that you remove the suspected threats one at a time to ensure that you do not remove something your system or a program you use could need to run correctly.

After you remove each item you should restart your PC to make sure there has been no mistakes made to the systems registry. Making a backup is recommended to correct any mistakes. The spyware programs will often locate files or programs that look and feel like spyware but are actually ones you need for your system to work.

It is never a good idea to try to remove registry entries on your own. You can create errors for the registry beyond repair sometime with removing just one entry. Spyware program removal software will sometimes come with a registry cleaner. It is a good idea to use this type of program to know your system is entirely free of the threats. Spyware and other malware programs will often embed in Windows registry making it very tedious to remove them. Even though the programs or files can be spotted by the removal tools they will often be unable to remove registry entries. So when you restart your computer the threat returns.

Windows Vista is equipped with several tools that are created for removing any malware programs as well as cleaning the registry. You can try using these first but in many cases it is just easier to get a program designed for spyware removal. The spyware removal programs may or may not offer protection against future malware attacks. You want to make sure that if your program does not that you find one that does. There is no way to avoid the threat of spyware entering your computer but it is helpful to have a program that includes the removal as well as the protection of spyware programs or other threats.

Computer Training In Interactive Format Simplified

Posted on 17:37 by Unknown
Only one in ten people in the UK today are claiming to be happy in their job. Of course, most will do nothing about it. The fact that you've got this far at least indicates that you're considering or may be ready for a change.

It's in your interests that before you start a training course, you discuss your plans with a person who knows the industry and can point you in the right direction. The right person will be able to assess your personal likes and dislikes and give you guidance on the right role for you:

- Do you see yourself dealing with people? Would that be with the same people or with a lot of new people? It could be working by yourself with your own methodology would give you pleasure?

- Are you thinking carefully about which sector you maybe could work in? (These days, it's more important than ever to choose carefully.)

- Is this the final time you want to study, and based on that, do you suppose your new career will offer that choice?

- Would you like the course you're re-training in to be in an area where you believe you'll remain employable up to retirement age?

Pay attention to the IT industry, that will be time well spent - you'll find it's one of the only growth areas in this country and overseas. In addition, salaries and benefits exceed most other industries.

At times individuals don't catch on to what IT is all about. It's ground-breaking, exciting, and means you're doing your bit in the gigantic wave of technology affecting everyones lives in the 21st century. We've only just begun to get an inclination of how technology is going to shape our lives. Computers and the Internet will massively revolutionise how we regard and interrelate with the rest of the world over the coming decades.

And don't forget that income in the IT industry in the United Kingdom is considerably more than remuneration packages in other industries, so you will most likely receive noticeably more in the IT sector, than you'd get in most other industries. It seems there's no end in sight for IT jobs development across Britain. The sector is still growing enormously, and as we have a skills gap that means we only typically have three IT workers for every four jobs it's highly unlikely that there'll be any kind of easing off for a good while yet.

The way a programme is physically sent to you is often missed by many students. How many stages do they break the program into? And in what order and what control do you have at what pace it arrives? Individual deliveries for each training module one stage at a time, according to your exam schedule is the usual method of releasing your program. Of course, this sounds sensible, but you should take these factors into account: Students often discover that their training company's standard order of study doesn't suit. It's often the case that a slightly different order suits them better. Could it cause problems if you don't get everything done within their exact timetable?

Ideally, you'd get ALL the training materials right at the beginning - so you'll have them all to come back to at any time in the future - irrespective of any schedule. Variations can then be made to the order that you attack each section if you find another route more intuitive.

Workshops can be portrayed as a strong aspect by a lot of trainers. When you talk to many IT students who have used them, you'll likely realise that they've now become a major negative as they hadn't properly considered the following:

- Loads of travelling to and from the workshop centre - sometimes very long trips.

- Weekday only accessibility with classes can be usual, and with two or three days required at a time, this is usually problematic for a lot of trainees who are working.

- Lost holiday days - many IT hopefuls are given only twenty days of leave annually. If over half of it is swallowed up by study classes, that isn't going to leave much vacation time for the family as a whole.

- 'In-Centre' workshop days usually become quickly full, meaning we have to accept a less-than-ideal slot.

- Many trainees are trying to maintain a quick pace, but some like to take it easier and be allowed to set their own speed. This generates tension in most cases.

- Count the cost of all the travel, fares, parking, food and accommodation and you may be surprised (and not pleasantly). Attendees have reported extra costs ranging from hundreds to over a thousand pounds. Break it down - then you'll know.

- Is it worth any chance of getting ignored for a lift up the ladder or wage increases because you're getting trained in a different area.

- Surely, all of us at some time have avoided asking a question, because we didn't want to look stupid?

- You should remember, events become pretty much undoable, in cases where you live away for some of the month.

It obviously makes a lot more sense to be trained when it suits you -- not the training company - and utilise videos of instructors with interactive virtual-lab's. Training can take place wherever it suits you. If you have a laptop, why not catch some fresh air in your garden as you work. Any issues that arise just get onto the live 24x7 support. You can go back and re-cover all the study modules as many times as you want to. There's absolutely no need to jot down any notes because the class is available whenever you want it. The outcome: Reduced stress, saved money, and absolutely no travelling.

Affordable Touch Screen Phone

Posted on 17:31 by Unknown
With the iPhone making its rounds all the other companies are trying to release rival touch screen phones. Touch screen phones are the latest craze in the cell phone world right now. Everybody wants to get their hands on one. With so many touch screen phones available it might be hard for a person to choose the right phone for themselves. One of the newest touch screen phones available from Verizon Wireless is the LG enV Touch.

The enV Touch has an amazingly large touch screen. It supports a staggering 1.6 million colors. The display is very sharp, vibrant, and bright. There are only 3 physical buttons on the front of the phone underneath the touch screen. Displayed for dialing and messaging is an alphanumeric keypad. The touch screen is very responsive and actually has options to vibrate or emit a noise when your touch is registered by the phone. This function helps you practice using and utilizing the touch screen correctly. The touch screen works well but it takes a while to get used to. When the phone is flipped open the user will have access to a physical full QWERTY keyboard and a secondary screen which is just as large as the one on the outside. The keyboard is very easy to use because the buttons aren't cramped together.

The phone features a wide array of impressive features. Unfortunately it lacks Wi-Fi. One such feature is the drawing pad. It allows you to actually doodle a picture on the phones touch screen, which can be saved and sent to people stored on the contacts list. The enV Touch utilizes a USB port which many phone users desperately want on a phone. The USB port makes transferring data to and from the phone very simple and quick. The phone also features a full HTML web browser. Surfing the web is quite simple on the phone but again the touch screens odd functionality may impede some of the users out there.

The camera on this phone takes very nice photos. It features a 3.2 megapixel lens. There are a multitude of image control options such as six different resolutions, five white balance presets, three focusing modes, and much more. One of the more notable features is called Facial Makeover mode which removes all the unsightly marks and blemishes such as pimples from a persons face while taking a picture.

The phone has great call quality as well. Callers will sound crystal clear over the phones ear piece. Thankfully the speakerphone works just as well also. Callers will sound clear and will come through without interference through the phones speakers.

The enV Touch is a very capable phone. Anyone looking for an affordable touch screen phone with expansive features should look no further. The phone does have some chinks in its armor but it makes up for it with its amazing list of functions.
